New Directions Education are looking to appoint flexible and adaptable Exam Invigilators, to work on an ad hoc, seasonal basis, supporting schools and colleges in Cardiff.
The positions available are part-time and will usually include either a morning or an afternoon shift, (e.g., 8:30am – 11:30am or 12:30pm – 3:30pm).
The successful candidate will be professional, able to follow instructions and willing to work in different schools in the area, to provide support to the examination process.
There will also be some requirement to work as a reader or scribe to support students with access arrangements, therefore excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Previous experience is not required; however, all applicants will need to provide employment references within the last 2 years. Offer of work is subject to a vigorous vetting process to ensure suitability to work with children.
Exam invigilators are responsible for:
- Ensuring the security of the examination before, during and after
- Preventing possible candidate malpractice
- Preventing possible administrative failures
- Liaising with the Examination Officer and Senior Invigilator
There will also be some requirement to work as a reader or scribe for students with access arrangements.
Please note, completion of Exam Invigilator training, Safeguarding Children Level 1 training and an Enhanced Child-Only DBS Certificate will be required for this role.
