Hudson River Trading (HRT) is hiring an Events Specialist to join our People Operations (People Ops) team in London! People Ops is responsible for the well-being and performance of all HRTers across our global offices. From recruiting to onboarding to the continued engagement and development of our employees, the People Ops team is dedicated to creating an authentic, inclusive environment that upholds our company values and drives the business forward.
In this role, you will report to the Community Engagement Lead, and be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of London events — in-person, virtual, and hybrid! This includes big-picture projects like employee engagement strategy and analytics tracking, as well as on-the-ground operational responsibilities, including day-of event management and event marketing. The ideal candidate will be a culture champion for their office with the big-picture vision to craft memorable experiences, the attention to detail to ensure seamless execution, and the communication know-how to build excitement and anticipation. We're looking for a creative problem solver with a "no task too small or too big" attitude.

Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to bring office culture to life through experiences
- Fully own high-touch team events, including team retreats, region-wide outings and trips, and impromptu community-building events for London employees
- Support our Dublin office, US, and APAC regions as needed
- Build enthusiasm for events through various communication tools, including email and Slack
- Write engaging and concise email communications to broad and diverse audiences

Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with strategic event planning
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to project manage your own workload and quickly reprioritize tasks as needed
- Strong decision-making skills
- Extensive experience in medium to large-scale planning production with a keen attention to detail
- Experience in rooming list management and complex transportation management
- Experience researching, negotiating, and working with external vendors
- Comfortable operating in fluid and open-ended problem spaces
- Skilled at turning creative visions into reality
- Experience working on cross-functional projects with many collaborators and stakeholders
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours/days to support company events
- Ability to travel as needed to support company events
