The role promises variety – from the event management of our pioneering digital AGM or a parliamentary reception showcasing M&S commitment to skills, to organising our colleague celebrations for Percy Pig’s birthday party, the cliché of ‘no two days are the same’ is true.
You must have exceptional organisation and planning skills and know how to get the best out of agencies and third-party providers to deliver outstanding events for audiences spanning across colleagues, media, MPs and other corporate business partners.
The role is part of the Corporate Affairs team, which is accountable for building belief in the transformation of M&S and growing its relevancy, and maintaining the exceptional public trust in the brand. We need dynamic, creative people to help drive the change needed.
Key accountabilities- Working with project leads across Corporate Affairs - and with agency support for large scale events – plan and manage the logistics for a portfolio of digital and in-person external and internal events ensuring the highest standards of delivery, best value for the business and act as the 'go to' person. Events include:
- AGM, Financial results, shareholder panel co-ordination and supporting capital market events such as ESG events.
- Media events – including regular Women in Retail Panel, ad-hoc social events
- Parliamentary receptions, MP visits and other Business Partner events
- Supporting local and community event action – working with agency partners as required
- All-company Town hall events – including financial results
- Programme of Retail Events – including annual and quarterly engagement
- Programme of Inspiring Speakers events
- Support delivery of Alumni events
- Support business unit conferences and huddles across Clothing & Home, Food, and International
- Support delivery of Leadership events as required
- Support People team in delivery of recognition events e.g. Long Service
- Strong written and verbal skills
