Job description

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, creative and well-organised person to join our new Economic Development and Regeneration service as Events Manager. You will play an essential and high profile lead role developing and managing the Council’s exciting programme of events. Our events are enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors alike. You will know how to market events and events programmes and have significant experience in event planning and management. As someone who enjoys developing relationships and working closely with businesses, other services, statutory agencies, partner organisations and stakeholders you will have a successful track record of delivering safe and successful events which attract large numbers of people.

In return for your experience and dedication, the Council offers you a competitive salary, generous pension contributions and annual leave, agile working and the opportunity to be part of a pro-active service which is encouraging a thriving economy, business growth, an increase in tourism and delivers top quality town centre operations such as our award-winning markets.

Charnwood is a vibrant borough in Leicestershire sitting between the three cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. Charnwood is easily accessible from the M1, the high-speed rail link between Sheffield and London and East Midlands Airport.

innovative businesses, renowned nationally and internationally.

Economic development is a top priority for the Council and this complements the excellent quality of life available in our towns, villages and beautiful countryside areas such as Bradgate Park and the Charnwood Forest.

With two Enterprise Zone sites, a Town Deal which will help fund new infrastructure enabling better markets and events, a well-established BID, secured UKSPF funding and a vibrant business community this is a great place to work.

You will lead a small team which has big impact. If you enjoy planning, managing and delivering brilliant events then this a great job for you. For an informal discussion about the post please email the Head of Service at [email protected]
