Job Overview:
Blue Mountain Village Association (BMVA) is an award-winning destination development and membership services organization recognized as leaders in the tourism industry. We're hiring a Marketing Manager, Events to innovate, create, market and elevate our signature event portfolio.
POSITION PURPOSE
To create and deliver the Association’s event marketing strategy and plans supporting key strategic priorities: elevate brand, signature events and guest experience, strengthen communication with members and stakeholders and support organizational efficiency and sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and lead the Association’s signature events programming and marketing strategy, including:
- Develop new concepts, strategies, goals, objectives and measures that support key business needs and the Association’s strategic plan.
- Manage strategic stakeholder relationships and input including; commercial members, resort events and marketing teams, tourism partners and other BMVA members.
- Manage public relations, media and FAM programs and initiatives.
- Represent BMVA at industry event
- Support signature event delivery and execution
- Develop content direction, planning and execution for all channels including; web, social, print, newsletters, signage, advertising, 3rd party platforms
- Measure and report on effectiveness of event and marketing activities ensuring continual optimization.
- Lead the signature Apple Pie Trail program including annual marketing plan, membership, and reporting.
- Steward the BMVA brand
- Manage event marketing related budgets
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Expertise in the conceptualization and creation of festivals and events
- Experience with project management processes
- Expertise with various technology platforms, channels, and best practices, including: social, digital, websites, Apps, email communication. Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, etc.
- Experience developing tourism products an asset
- Experience with marketing, research, data management and reporting
- Proven customer service excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to quickly gain complete knowledge of Village commercial members, their products and services
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
- Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, while at the same time be a team player.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
University degree or College level diploma in relevant field
Experience
Five years of related experience

Due to the cyclical nature of the tourism industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Association.
This position is primarily on-site/in-office and requires local residency.
