We are seeking an event assistant who can work under pressure and is highly detailed oriented. The pay is starting at £13 an hour with a minimum of 10 hours each week working in Belfast both at venue partners and at home.
This will change each week and involve evenings and weekends but at busy times this could be 25 hours a week.
WHO?
Alternative Belfast host art events and plan to launch new events throughout Belfast.
THE ROLE?
We are searching for an events assistant to work on our Belfast events. We are looking for someone who can multitask, organize staff, manage bookings, respond to clients, develop training and take on whatever task is needed. We are looking for someone who after training can work independantly.
No day is ever the same and each week varies significantly. We work on corporate projects some weeks. It changes all the time and as a small company we need someone who can adapt to change.
Please note there will be lots of lifting as part of this job so please remember than when applying. You would regularly need to lift tables and chairs.
WHAT ARE THE WORK HOURS?
There will be two mid week office/email days but there is evening work and weekend work regularly needed.
This role would require some work on Saturdays as that is our busiest day every week so please keep that in mind before you apply. A typical week would be Monday, Wednesday, Friday,Saturday this is how we would like to fill the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Hiring team members and rostering for each weekly event.
- Dealing with customer enquiries.
- Managing, leading and motivating an events team.
- Working with clients on event requests and bookings.
- Tracking event performance and liaising with accounts on finances.
- Ensuring stock levels are maintained.
- Administration tasks
- Dealing with venues and bookers.
- Working on logistics for events.
Ideal Candidate
- Third level qualification.
- Minimum 1 years experience working in events or simlair field
- Effective communication skills.
- Excellent presentation, communication and project management skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independantly.
