Job description
The Video and Events Specialist is responsible for designing and planning events and producing video content for webinars, public appearances, and social media. This position aims to generate qualified leads and increase the company's reach through high-quality video content and successful events. The Video and Events Specialist works closely with the marketing team to ensure that all video content and events are delivered on time and meet the company's standards. The Specialist also ensures that each project adheres to client specifications and is the secondary liaison between team members and internal or external clients.
Essential Functions
- Read, review, and edit scripts to determine the most effective way to produce a video based on the script.
- Create storyboards and recommend video sequences to support marketing campaigns.
- Collaborates with subject matter consultants and training staff to evaluate and plan productions.
- Create or record footage for social media and manage the organization’s YouTube channel.
- Manages logistics (i.e. set up panel and zoom link) and set up for film set equipment and locations while providing consistent routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting of video, audio, and lighting equipment.
- Cuts and edits videos to remove bad or extraneous footage, add effects such as graphics, animated videos, or transitions, and create a professional video product.
- Plan marketing strategies for events such as webinars and public appearances.
- Edit footage after events to ensure that the message is effectively communicated to the entire organization, as well as on social media and for generating leads.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:?
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 2+ years of professional experience coordinating, producing, and editing productions or similar experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Expert knowledge and skillfulness in Adobe Creative Suite??
- Thorough understanding of and ability to use basic video production equipment.
- Thorough understanding of artistic styles, techniques, methodologies, and effects used within video production.
- Outstanding organizational, execution, and project management capabilities with keen attention to detail?
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Video Production/Film, or related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent professional experience
- 1-3 years of professional experience in project management, social media content production, project coordination, sales, advertising, customer service, public relations, or a similar field
- Expertise in video production and live streaming software tools such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Zoom Webinar, social media live streaming tools, or OBS
- Ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and values. The position uses a computer and standard office equipment to work in a virtual office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to interact collaboratively with the team and stakeholders and communicate via phone, videophone, or text messaging. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds occasionally. The position may require travel up to 10%.
