Working as part of a close-knit 8 persons Site Management Team, the Establishment Security Officer (ESyO) is responsible for all aspects of security at DM Gosport. Primarily involved with the management of cryptographic items, monitoring the Guarding Security Statements of Requirements (GSSOR), the maintenance of local security orders, the management of building keys and building access, along with maintaining a close liaison between Ministry of Defence Police (MDP), Military Guard Service (MGS), PSyA and external agencies.
The ESyO is key to conducting local security exercises, investigating local MGS and MDP occurrence reports along with MoD discrepancy reports, processing security clearances and issuing ID passes for staff, lodgers and contractors including maintaining the cleared contractors and lodger list, along with the recording, mustering, destruction and despatch of classified books, documents and media. This role can be very demanding on occasions, however equally rewarding when resolving security problems.

Responsibilities
- Manage security risks by overseeing Physical Security operations and the deployment of security measures to effectively protect assets, (information, people, buildings and equipment) throughout the office/site/facility.
- Plan, test, and respond to security/emergency incidents.
- Conduct assurance of all risks pertaining to office/site/facility security, providing evidence-based risk mitigations to decision-makers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulation and legislation, providing office/site/facility level guidance on the implementation of these through site security instructions or orders.
- Assure the implementation of effective security governance, guidance, education and training for all staff across the office/site/facility.
- Maintain effective strategic relationships with service providers, MOD Police and MOD Guard Service
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Establishment Security Officer Course – to be held or willing to undertake within 6 months of employment
- Background in a Security related role
