About Us

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association is a registered charity founded by Dr Nooralhaq Nasimi, who arrived as a refugee in the back of a refrigerated container with his young family in 1999. We promote social and economic integration of an increasing number of Afghan, Ukrainian and other refugees. We use a community development ethos to support the development of their potential within a mutually supportive framework and we work with a wide range of partners to reach vulnerable and isolated individuals and families in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the UK.

Project Description

We plan to launch Employability focussed English classes for cohorts of Romanians in Coventry. We are looking to recruit a project assistant to help with project delivery.

THE ROLE

Work with tutors to arrange visits to local places and field trips to company offices
Keep a register of daily attendance for each session – names and signatures of learners
Find local employers to match candidates to suitable jobs
Collect Claimant feedback/case studies/good news stories
Performance monitoring sheet to record and track attendance/completions/outcomes
Pay travel expenses for each learner
Offer Certificates for each learner
Create a poster for the classes
Create CV’s/cover letters for learners
Find Restart programme, work experience, apprenticeships
Identity local employers with vacancies to match candidates to suitable job opportunities
Provider to identify transferable skills to match with suitable alternative job opportunities
Help with one to one diagnostic assessment
Creating Action Plan for each learner
Attend Monthly provider engagement meeting
