Job description

Job description We are looking for energetic, friendly people to come and join our Cluetopia Escape Team! Your role as a Gamemaster is fast changing and sometimes unpredictable.

We need team players who can think on their feet, show initiative and adapt to any situation. Our rooms are built to a high standard, and if you believe you can run our rooms to a high standard as well, then this is the job for you!

This role is wonderfully rewarding but also requires high levels of concentration for long periods of time. Previous customer service experience is not necessary. We require you to be able to work flexible hours, mainly evenings and weekends (until 10pm).

Please be aware that this role can be physically and mentally demanding at times. The contracts available at this moment in time are zero hour contracts. We hope to have the potential for this to evolve in to something more permanent. This job allows you to develop various skills within a customer service role, ensuring all groups who play have a 5* experience every time!

Your main responsibilities for the Gamemaster role include, but are not limited to: - Ensure each team has a great experience:

  • To Meet and Greet customers as they arrive, in a welcoming manner.
  • To host an escape room game for groups of size 2 - 8.
  • To discuss experiences and get to know the customers.
  • Brief the customers on our house keeping rules, tell an engaging story to set the scene for the groups and debrief each team at the end of their escape room experience.
  • Follow a game closely to ensure the safety of each customer and be available to offer the correct hints based on what you have followed throughout the game. Please note that multiple puzzles can be done at once, therefore great observation skills and high levels of concentration are required at all times.
  • Reset the room to specific requirements each time with little/no room for error at speed.
  • To report/fix any issues/breakages and take pride in the upkeep of each room. - Training will provide you with the ability to use the software’s required each day:
  • Booking systems – make and change bookings
  • Social Media management and editing/posting of team photographs - You are also required to assist with day-to-day operations:
  • Tidy and keep clean the waiting areas, offices, staff room and the rooms.
  • Contribute towards new room decoration/construction if your skills allow. We build new rooms regularly so when a room is closed, your role may change to supporting the new room build. Most importantly you are there to ensure the smooth running of a day at Tricky Escape!
