Locked In Glasgow is a fun and exciting business located in the heart of Glasgow. We are an established escape room with 5 current games and more on the way. As our new employee, you will be joining a tight-knit team of escape room enthusiasts who love their job.
This is a part time job with an expected 20 hours per week. We are looking for availability on a mix of weekdays as well as the weekend. It is essential that you are able to work midweek while also having flexibility across the weekend. Please also note that the working hours can start at 10:30am and end at 10pm.
We offer £10.50 per hour, paid monthly.
Training will be provided, however experience in a customer-facing field and a passion for escape rooms are both beneficial.
We are looking for a responsible, outgoing and thoughtful employee. Your responsibilities would include:
- Greeting guests and guiding them through their escape room experience
- Confidently introducing the idea of escape rooms and explaining the rules to large groups
- Watching the team through cameras and providing the perfect amount of help
- Interacting with guests before and after their games, asking questions about their experience and debriefing the team
- Taking great photos of the team and informing them of other games they can play at Locked In
- Resetting the rooms to perfection, with high attention to detail to the puzzle elements and the scenery aspects of the room
- Handling bookings and payments for games
- Answering queries that customers have both over the phone and face to face
- Maintaining a tidy room and reception
Essential traits and skills:
- A strong sense of responsibility: Once you are trained on a game it is up to you to make sure it runs smoothly and that customers enjoy themselves
- A positive outlook: Weekends can be very busy, but maintaining positivity and motivation are essential to provide the best experience for the customers
- Communication: Whether it is introducing your team, sending them hints, or communicating with the rest of the staff - good communication skills will be essential
- Time-management: Games need to run on a tight and exact schedule and being aware of how long you have is vital
- Attention to detail and fast thinking: You will need to notice everything that goes on in your room and ensure that the reset is perfect. There will be occasions when you will need to multi-task, solve problems and react quickly to unexpected events
