Job description
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion is critical to our continued success, ensuring we offer a welcoming and inclusive learning, working and social environment that is underpinned by equality of opportunity and is enriched by a diversity thought and practice. We have the right foundations in place to promote a more inclusive culture, but we recognise that there is still more we can do. We now seek to appoint a passionate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Adviser, who will drive positive cultural change and embed best practice within Cambridge University Libraries.
The Role: Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will work closely with the Library's Leadership Team, and collaborate with a range of stakeholders including Staff Network Conveners and the Libraries Accessibility Service.
You will help devise, manage and coordinate activities designed to improve the lives and experiences of our communities, through the development and implementation of an ED&I programme. This programme will impact all of our communities, and you will take the lead with staff initiatives, whilst working closely with and sharing best practice with other leads across our Libraries, to bring these actions together in one place.
As the first point of contact for staff for ED&I related matters, you will provide expert advice to staff at all levels, raising awareness of ED&I issues, and supporting our colleagues to speak with confidence about these issues.
About You: In order to succeed in this role you will join us with:
Demonstrable experience of working in a role with relevant ED&I responsibilities.
A good understanding of the Equality Act and related case law.
Experience and commitment to promoting and fostering a better understanding of ED&I issues, with the ability to communicate tactfully and with sensitivity.
Experiences with developing and maintaining partnerships and networks with a range of stakeholders, and the ability to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of people.
Further details of the role can be found within the Further Particulars. If you would like these in an alternative format, or have any questions about the role or application process please do contact Natalie Deighton, HR Business Partner ([email protected])
