The Team
The Governance and Compliance team is a vibrant and diverse team of professionals providing a range of key functions and support for the University in the areas of Governance, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Information Governance, Student Casework and Legal.
The Role
We are seeking to appoint an Equality & Diversity Adviser to provide leadership in the University’s equality, diversity and human rights agenda and support the development, planning and delivery of organisational objectives to ensure not only that the University meets their equality obligations, but that difference is recognised and celebrated within all aspects of York St John life.
The role will embrace equality, diversity and inclusivity matters as they relate to students, staff, collaborative partners and visitors and facilitate a consistent, coordinated and embedded approach to fairness and opportunity across the University.
Required Skills and Experience
You will be an experienced professional with proven specialist knowledge around the key issues and requirements relating to equality and diversity in a large and complex organisation, with significant experience of reporting and advising on equality and diversity policies and statistics.
An in-depth understanding of relevant legislation and strong communication skills are essential. You will be a team player and have the ability to communicate at all levels.
