An exciting opportunity has arisen for Night Porter to join our team.
The York Pavilion is a three star hotel based in Fulford, just two miles from York’s historic City centre. This characterful hotel boasts a variety of individually styled bedrooms, suites, apartments and private dining rooms. (Please see www.yorkpavilionhotel.com for more details). Weddings are hosted most weeks, along with conferences, training events, christenings and all other celebrations.
The York Pavilion Hotel has been privately owned and operated since 1988. Each bedroom, function room and all the public areas have been sympathetically designed by the Proprietors, in keeping with the Georgian roots of the property. Once the home of famous composer John Barry, there is so much to love and learn about this unique and charming hotel.
Responsibilities include:
Customer Service
- To ensure all guests on their arrival receive a warm welcome and are assisted in a courteous, helpful manner with registration and checking out of the hotel.
- To ensure the hotel telephone system is answered as per company standard, ensuring that all messages are correctly handled and processed immediately.
- To deal with guest feedback as appropriate.
- To operate the hotel bar in line with company standards and licensing laws
- To clean and set up function rooms for following day
- To set up the breakfast buffet as per the company standards
- To aid and assist guests throughout their stay in a friendly and professional manner.
- To clean public areas of the hotel
- To collect all seat pads & put away in designated area
- To assist with any other area of the business, as required.
Revenue & Sales
- To be able to take a bedroom reservation, ensuring all information is correctly recorded.
- To be consistently aware of the hotels’ availability, to maximise all opportunities to sell rooms at the best possible rate.
- Ensure room sales are maximised by dealing with all enquiries/walk-in guests in accordance with hotel procedures
- To be fully aware of hotel activities and promote wherever possible
Personnel & Training
- To ensure good working relationships with colleagues in the Reception area and other departments of the hotel.
- Attend training when required
Maintaining Product and Health, Safety & Security
- To ensure security procedures regarding guest valuables, departmental keys and floats are strictly adhered to at all times.
- To be fully confident in the hotel fire safety policy in order to assist with a full evacuation of the hotel
- To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety and Fire procedures
- To attend statutory training when required
We are looking for someone to work Monday & Tuesday 11pm - 7am and cover holidays. The hours are 11pm - 7am.
We offer paid breaks, meals on duty and weekly pay.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week
Salary: £9,360.00 per year
