Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance Engineer

British Airways Engineering Wales is home to BA’s world class engineering team, and we would like to welcome applications for our latest Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance Engineer.
The role of Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance Engineer is a key position within BA Engineering Wales with the diverse responsibility to support BA’s application for EENVA accreditation and responsible for continuously improving environmental, sustainability and H&S performance. Reporting into the Compliance Manager, the key responsibilities will include:
- Maintain all aspects of the Environmental and H&S Management Systems, assuring compliance through audit activity and investigation.
- Provide specialist support and guidance for business areas to enable the continuous development of a positive & proactive sustainability culture.
- Provide detailed analysis of data to enable development of business Environmental strategies.
- Deliver internal Environmental related training in order to meet regulatory and business needs.
- Provide interface between compliance teams within British Airways and all other customer and suppliers associated with BAMC.
If you think this role is for you, then we looking for someone who has:
- Working knowledge, Environmental regulations and H&S at work act
- Knowledge of EIA’s environmental management studies and audits
- Skilled auditor and investigator, capable of applying root cause analysis to ensure implementation of robust error prevention measures
- Deliver engaging classroom-based Environmental and H&S training
- Good verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to be assertive when required
We will also need you to have the following Qualifications/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental discipline (or equivalent)
- Accredited Lead Auditor qualification – desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate – Occupational Health & Safety – desirable
- IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management (or equivalent) – desirable
This is a based in BAEW’s purpose-built Aircraft Maintenance facility located on Cardiff International Airport.
