Role: Environmental Consultant - Drones and Remote Sensing
Location: UK – Harwell, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Bristol, Hybrid
Salary range: £26,000 to £34,000 plus benefits

We are currently looking for an Analyst Consultant / Environmental to join our Water team to support our drone capabilities and being able to demonstrate the added value of using drones for environmental assessment in the water and ecology sector. The role holder will also be expected to support a range of GIS and analytical tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Input drone/UAV outputs into GIS and undertake geospatial data processing.
- Apply remote sensing/photographic imagery to environmental/ecological monitoring.
- Complete research into remote sensing/UAV capabilities and their applications to environmental monitoring.
- Understanding how to link geospatial data process to other open source data and analyse the relevance related to a range of open source data and analysis.
- Work with the wider team to deliver programmes of work.
- Help drive GIS capabilities in across water and ecology teams.
- A relevant environmental degree with GIS/Remote sensing experience.
- A strong understanding of ecological and water data and reasons for assessment of data for clients.
- Relevant experience with QGIS, WebODM/Agisoft/Pix4Dmapper (or similar).
- Relevant experience with drone imagery/orthophoto analysis and manipulation.
- Detailed understanding of thermal imagery, multispectral imagery and lidar data.
- Knowledge of remote sensing including LiDAR, multispectral and thermal imaging.
- Innovative and keen to drive forward business ideas in this area.
- Consultancy or similar experience.
- Ambition to learn.
- Drone (RPAS/UAV) piloting experience (although training can be provided).
- Experience in creating flight plans and creating orthophotos.
