Job description
Would you like to help protect and enhance our water environment?
As an Environment Planning Officer, you’ll review and interpret data and evidence, presenting your findings to colleagues and managers to help influence prioritisation of activities across the area. You’ll help to update and maintain our environmental data, working with a variety of teams to ensure the data is accurate and reliable for the many teams who use it. You’ll respond to freedom of information requests and help to manage our team inbox.
We are a multidisciplinary team and depending on your skills, interests, and team priorities, you can get involved in and contribute to a variety of activities, including:

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. - Catchment planning
- Commissioning our water monitoring programme

The Integrated Environment Planning Team works to improve our evidence base and drive integrated delivery to achieve the best for Kent and South London’s environment.

We work with other teams locally and nationally to shape ways of working and contribute to our local and Defra’s 25-Year-Plan aims.

Experience/skills required

- Organisational skills and the ability to plan, track, deliver and evaluate work
- Good communication/influencing skills
- Experience of gathering, maintaining and quality-assuring data/information
- Can work with and summarise environmental data for use by internal and external customers
- Confident working under own initiative and as part of a larger, cross-functional/multidisciplinary team
- Can develop networks and work with a range of customers to understand and incorporate their needs
