Summary

At SportPursuit we use data to show the right content to the right member, to spend marketing money wisely and effectively, to buy the right products, to find and deal with supply chain issues quickly… and we’re only just getting started! For these reasons we are searching for a Entry Level Data and Insight Analyst to join our Data Team.

At SportPursuit you’ll focus on using data and insight to make our business even better – and the work you do will generate more revenue and make us more efficient as we scale. This role will give you the opportunity to work closely with every team in the business, to understand how our business operates, what the challenges are, and how you can help resolve those through the use of data.

A little bit more about this role:

This role is UK remote based and suits someone who is genuinely interested in what makes our business tick, and how data and analysis can be used to understand and improve every aspect of the business, generating long term value. The role will be varied and engaging, but will include:

1) Building Consistent Centralised Reporting

Use our BI tool Mode to:

  • Maintain and enhance real time reporting for our Trading and Customer Service teams.
  • Automate daily/weekly/monthly reporting to monitor business performance for all teams.
  • Help inform business decisions with insightful reporting

2) Delivering Insight

  • Provide analytical insight for commercial owners across the business to both inform and support operational and strategic decision making.
  • Deliver ad hoc bespoke analysis and field queries to help the executive team and wider business answer key commercial questions.
  • Analyse web analytics data and provide insight on the likely explanations behind deviances with actionable suggestions for improvements.
  • Use Bayesian Statistics to run A/B Tests, delivering robust advice to the business on which improvements to implement.

3) Supporting on Data Driven Projects

  • These include various forecasting models typically built in Python
  • Anything from helping work out how many people will visit the website each day through calculating the future value of all our members
  • A chance to deploy cutting edge machine learning techniques that really have an impact

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have excellent analytical and numeracy skills
  • Possess a passion for data and accuracy
  • Be very logical and very detailed!
  • Numerate degree
  • Curiosity and a desire to constantly learn new things

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, comfortable explaining simple conclusions from complex analysis to anyone across the business
  • Some experience with SQL preferred, and some experience of Python or R would be advantageous, although we value a desire to learn more than what you know
