Purpose of the role
As a Claims Operations Assistant you will provide invaluable support to the claims team, carrying out administrative tasks and liaising with other teams to provide the underwriters with the data and information they need to complete the underwriting process. This is a varied role which offers a great foundation for an insurance career. We are open to candidates with limited experience looking to progress their careers or candidates looking for their first role within insurance with a desire to explore claims as a long-term career path. All training and development will be provided on the job.
Duties and accountabilities
- Claims file set-up for adjusters
- Assist with data accuracy checks and adjustments
- Action loss fund returns, outstanding queries, static claims and missing reserves
- Support adjusters with payment processing
- Provide administrative support to claims operations
- Assist with investigating and reconciling variances
- Various ad-hoc projects
Skills, knowledge and experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
- Be a pro-active and positive team player
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage competing demands and deliver results to agreed deadlines
- Demonstrable interest in developing a career within claims adjustment within the Lloyds Market
