Job description
This position is a 1.0 FTE located in the Department of Teaching & Learning . Reports to the Supervisor of English Language Arts in the Department of Instruction.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Current knowledge regarding language arts research and practice.
- Current knowledge of language arts materials including core programs, supplementary programs, and children's literature.
- Current knowledge of both group and individual assessment and how to interpret the results.
- Ability to lead team meetings and language arts committees as needed.
- Knowledge of (1) the full range of Virginia/APS 6-12 subject matter areas.
- Knowledge of, and skill in applying, (1) the theories, principles and practices of child development and education (6-12)
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure with a Masters Degree and endorsed in Reading.
- A Master’s Degree in Education or another field related to the essential functions of this class of work is preferred.
- Endorsement in Reading is preferred but not required.
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.

9. Click the Submit Application button to finish applying for an APS position(s).
