What will I be doing…
Reporting to the Capital Maintenance Project Manager, we are looking for an honest, confident and motivated individual who can deliver a wide variety of M&E and civil schemes to time, cost and quality, with a key emphasis on safety.
In this role you will be responsible for assisting and delivering a variety of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil capital maintenance projects, from the initial concept stage all the way through to the successful commission and handover to the end-user.
My Responsibilities…
You will:
- Deliver mechanical, civil, and electrical projects.
- Undertake whole project lifecycle delivery – from scoping though to commissioning and handover.
- Manage technical designs, specifications, standards and scope.
- Provide Engineering technical expertise, propose design changes and make best for project recommendations.
- Analyse project briefs, develop full packages of works in accordance with client specifications.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including the public.
- Interface between client and contractors.
- Host and chair project meetings. Attend site to agree scopes of works.
- Produce quality documentation and safe working procedures.
- Assist with the Scheduling and priority of projects. Report weekly and monthly on key milestones in accordance with KPIs.
- Become familiar Lifting Operations and gain knowledge and understanding of plant, equipment and Personnel involved.
- Manage work, ensuring it’s delivered safely, on time and to budget.
What are the requirements?
To be successful, you’ll need:
- To have been educated to a relevant degree level and have a hunger for delivering multi-disciplinary, challenging engineering projects.
- Experience in design, construction, management (CDM) and commissioning.
- The ideal candidate will hold IOSH, SSSTS or SMSTS and to be CompEx trained (desired but not essential).
- Knowledge of delivering water and wastewater projects within the UK water industry is not a necessity, as experience in other utilities could be relevant.
- To have excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player.
- The ability to build good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- To have good organisational skills and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- Thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment with the ability to think on your feet.
