Job description
Primary Locations include Prince William Hospital (Manassas VA), Haymarket Hospital (Gainesville VA), and Culpeper Hospital (Culpeper VA). Works as part of a team of service technicians supporting the UVA Community Health Hospitals and associated clinics.
- Perform as first-line full-service expert in focus clinical and administrative areas including but not limited to radiology/imaging laboratory or respiratory therapy.
- Demonstrates proficiency of preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.
- Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining UVA medical equipment inventory system.
- Coordinate and/or perform installation and initial inspections on medical equipment.
- Ensures compliance with all safety rules codes practices and policies.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate’s Degree or CBET, Microsoft, Medical Device Manufacturer Certification, etc.
Experience: 5-7 years relevant experience.
License: Valid Virginia Driver’s License required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting and standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/climbing ladders, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive) and walking (distance: 1 – 2 miles/day), Repetitive motion: computer keyboard and driving/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100 lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids, infectious disease and dust.
