The Opportunity
We are looking for a PCB Soldering Specialist who is motivated to work closely with a talented and diverse engineering team and has the skill set to take on the assembly of advanced wireless communication systems. The candidate will work very closely with the Engineering team: Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, to provide expert technical assistance.
SCHEDULE: Fully Onsite, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Printed circuit board SMD (down to 0201 component size) and through hole soldering and modification work.
- Hands-on soldering, wire harness assembly and prototype product assembly on an as-needed basis
- Work with cross-functional engineering team to assist assembly and testing.
- Perform lab and field testing of electronic equipment and systems.
- Perform manual assembly of various prototype and cable assemblies.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Printed Circuit Board hand soldering down to 0201 component size.
- Highly proficient in hand soldering with experience using lead-free solder.
- Proficiency in use of electrical modification equipment (soldering station, heat-gun, and preheater)
- Ability to work independently.
- Passion for working on electrical hardware.
- Ability to multitask and be flexible.
- Ability to read and interpret PCB part placement instructions, electrical schematics, and other specifications.
- Ability to work under a microscope.
- Usage of hand assembly tools.
- Understanding of component sizes/packages and wire gauges.
- Ensuring a high level of quality in all phases of prototyping.
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen) due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
Knowledge and Skills
- Usage of DMM’s, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.
- Experience in a development lab setting.
- Basic knowledge of electronics and mechanical drawing is a plus.
- Basic RF knowledge is a plus.
- Certified with IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 standards.
