Engineering Technician

Fritz Industries is an independent, 100% employee-owned company with facilities located in Mesquite, Greenville, and Houston, Texas. We are currently seeking an Engineering Tech to join the Engineering Team in Mesquite Texas.
Position Objective:
Provides electrical, process engineering, & control services for the company. Position requires knowledge of industrial process design and engineering techniques. Will assist planning and conducting job tasks requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides electrical/instrumentation engineering services to maintain and improve plant performance.
· Manages electrical/instrumentation projects.
· Provides assistance on evaluation/design/implementation of new production processes.
· Provides assistance to define and scope development for new processes, assist with transition to detailed engineering and follow through to start up.
· Assist with researching process design options and selection, to include financial impact analysis.
· Code compliance.
· Provides support for Maintenance in troubleshooting and training.
· Develops new and maintains existing electrical systems and related documents for all facilities.
· Supervise regular testing of safety instrumented systems.
· Determines qualified vendors for instrumentation, control and electrical engineering services.
Plant Support:
· Perform process troubleshooting and implement corrective actions.
· Provide assistance, as needed or directed, to deliver a quality product on schedule.
· Provide training to production personnel and develop of training programs.
· Assist in coordinating operational activities with managers of production, engineering
and maintenance.
· Specify and assist in purchasing of equipment and materials.
· Perform process troubleshooting and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications:
·Prefer Technical School education.
· 1-3 years experience in instrumentation and control system design, installation, start up and maintenance.
· Experience with PLCs/automation is required.
· This position requires a person that is always thinking of improvements or new technology.
· Basis computer skills such as MS Office, MS Scheduling Software.
· Experience with AutoCad/Solidworks is required.
