Job description
We are currently expanding our team and are looking for an Engineering Technician. At CORMETECH our Engineers are passionate about developing new technologies for our clients. Your primary role will be to support the Process Development Engineers and other project leaders by examining how different materials and formulations impact processing and properties monoliths. You will lead tasks supporting new projects related to new products, new processes, and new equipment.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Setup new laboratory and pilot scale equipment for new processes and tests.
- Startup and qualification runs of new laboratory and pilot scale equipment for new processes and tests.
- Write procedures and train Development Technicians on new laboratory and pilot scale equipment for new processes and tests.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance plan actions for new laboratory and pilot processes/equipment.
- Run first pass samples on new formulations and collect / organize data.
- Collect, organize and present process / test data associated with samples, laboratory and pilot processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization in new laboratory and pilot processes.
- Support the transition from the development phase into production for new processes and products.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists in project work.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals.
- Other tasks as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- Must Possess an Associates degree in Science, Engineering, or technical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent technical field is preferred.
- Possess experience working in an academic or industrial laboratory using analytical instrumentation.
- Possess a mechanical aptitude.
- Has the ability to use a computer and complete specific tasks (i.e. reports, spreadsheets etc.).
- Have intermediate MS Excel experience is preferred.
- Has the ability to work independently and on a team.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and written.
- Has the ability to train others effectively.
What Knowledge and Skills We Prefer:
- Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
The Working Conditions:
- Mechanical noise
- Dusty and dirty work environment due to materials and raw materials
- Varying temperatures from warm to cool.
- Office work sitting at a desk working on a computer.
- Exposure to chemicals
The Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for extended periods of time working on a computer frequently
- Ability to lift push, pull, and carry 25 pounds occasionally.
- Standing for extended periods of time occasionally
- Walking, stooping, bending, crouching, twisting, climbing, and kneeling
