Are you ready to kick-start your career in Electrical Engineering? We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician Apprentice to join our dynamic team based in Blyth.

Your role will be to actively support the High Voltage (HV) Laboratory manager and the wider team deliver projects and test results that feed into larger business objectives. Your daily task can be varied and no two days will look the same, from developing electrical competency by working with the HV Test Team to supporting the HV Lab manager by delivering relevant test regimes you will be exposed to a wide variety of projects and tasks that will keep you interested and learning.
Some key responsibilities:
- Supporting with the delivery of testing, project management as well as research and development projects
- Carrying out HV laboratory procedures in a precise and safe manner.
- Liaising with clients and showcasing test results and findings
- Supporting the business with risk management and Health & Safety initiatives to create a safe working space for all employees
- Implement plans/ solutions for continuous improvement of lab facilities.

Qualifications: As part of your apprenticeship you will be enrolled on a Level 3 apprenticeship program in Maintenance & Operations Engineering
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of five 9-4 grade GCSEs, including English, Maths and Science/Technology as well as some Level 3 qualifications in relevant subjects. Your Level 3 qualifications could be AS-levels/A-Levels, a BTEC National or a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent
- Any hands-on electrical or materials-related work experience or an engineering-biased hobby would be an advantage
- Basic knowledge of the renewable energy industry and awareness of engineering.
- Willing to undertake a Level 3 apprenticeship and qualifications
- Good understanding of office-based equipment and software packages.
- Works accurately, conscientiously, diligently and with attention to detail.
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Assessment Day
As part of our selection process, you may be invited to attend an assessment centre day so that we can get to know you a little better and show you how our business operates.
To be able to attend this you must be available on 19th July 2023
