Engineering Supervisor

About the role
- This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
- We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
- The base location for this role is Balliol National Distribution Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne
What you'll do
- Assist Engineering Manager by ensuring daily and weekly work plans for the Engineers are delivered to the required standards.
- Supports and feeds into PDR's for Engineering Team.
- Assist with coaching and mentoring/ development opportunities for the team as requested.
- Supports management of any shortfalls in performance.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and encourages teams in line with Company Values.
- Communicate effectively with all team members
- Act as role model for colleagues
- Delegate work to as and when appropriate.
- Provides regular updates on key issues to the Engineering Manager.
- Encourages team to identify any areas for improvement.
- Supports recruitment needs with Engineering Manager and People Department, participating in the recruitment process as requested.
- Assist with the development and delivery of the departmental PPM's, SOP's, training and skills matrix.
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
- Mechanical and Electrical skills
- Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Good Interpersonal Skills
- Good Planning and Organising Skills
- Ideally engineering based apprenticeship - craft training, or appropriate experience at a suitable level
- Experience with use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) ideally Agility.
Desirable:
- HACCP or similar training/experience.
- Foundation Level Food Hygiene, or Level 3 Food Hygiene or above.
- Experience in Siemans TIA Portal and PLC fault finding.
