The Cint platform automates the insights gathering process so that companies can gain access to insights faster with unparalleled scale. Cint has the one of the world’s largest consumer networks for digital survey-based research, made up of over 160 million engaged respondents across more than 130 countries. Over 3,200 insights-driven companies use Cint to accelerate how they gather consumer insights and supercharge business growth.

The Opportunity

Cint’s Data Engineering team is growing and is continuing to work on a major program of modernisation to deploy our software to a new platform. The platform and core services are still being evolved too and there is a healthy mix of green-field, re-writes and migrations to the fully automated (infrastructure as code and CICD) container based ecosystem.

This will involve forming multi-disciplinary teams along with our application, front-end and data engineering colleagues located in Sweden, UK, US, Spain and various remote locations. We need a manager that thrives on complex organisational challenges, distributed teams and polyglot technology to help us with quarterly high level planning, forming and leading scrums, and mentoring and developing individual engineers to be the best that they can be.

This is a varied role requiring broad experience, flexibility, negotiation skills and an ability to manage upwards and outwards in addition to direct reports (initially four, growing to six or seven).

What You Will Do

  • Line management of engineers within the Data team
  • Organisation of the internal team workloads, scrums and contributing to developing and improving all of our engineering processes
  • Working with engineering managers, project managers and product owners from the wider Tech organisation;
  • Agreeing and tracking goals, developing individuals and acting as career guide/coach
  • General administration for the team (holiday planning/approvals, appraisals etc.)
  • Road map planning and coordination of activities to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Forming appropriate cross-functional scrums and removing barriers to achieving monthly and sprint goals

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in software development teams practising agile methodologies
  • Previous experience managing or leading engineers in a senior technical position
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, creative thinking and design skills
  • Managing and working with distributed teams (fully remote and across several time zones)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • For US candidates: We are only considering candidates in Eastern timezone

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Data lake, data pipeline, infrastructure/platform experience (ELK, Kinesis, Databricks, SQL Server)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, best practices around testing and knowledge of CICD pipelines
  • Direct experience of coding in python, bash or similar

Anticipated Salary Range (US Only):
In California, Colorado, New York City and Washington, the anticipated pay range for this role is $125K-$145K base salary annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations. In addition, this position is also eligible for the following benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance options to suit you and your family’s needs
