AD Energy Recruitment have the pleasure of releasing a new vacancy in the Scottish Renewable Energy Market. We are now looking to speak to experienced Engineering Managers who are interested in a permanent position based in Grangemouth.

Engineering Manager Job:

To provide an efficient planned and responsive maintenance service to the plant. To ensure optimum plant performance and output, and to ensure conformance of all workers in relation to; legal and regulatory requirements, quality and environment assurance standards, Health and Safety, Company policies, and MESE Safe working practices.

The successful Engineering Manager will be Responsible for:

  • Control & Instrument (C & I) Technician
  • 2 x Electrical Technicians
  • 2 X Mechanical Fitters
  • Maintenance Supervisor
  • Maintenance Contractors as required

Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System including management of Superuser and preparation of all work packs (both delegated), schedules and stock management
  • Planning, organisation and monitoring of all routine and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Plan (alongside team and Management Team Outages as per business plan)
  • Development and implementation of a routine inspection and monitoring programme to ensure the plant and all equipment performs at optimum level, and to minimise incidents or breakdowns.
  • Planning and performance of all maintenance activities necessary to conform to statutory requirements.
  • Manage a preventative maintenance schedule.
  • To identify repetitive issues/failures and propose longer term measures and solutions where necessary by monitoring and record maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that all data reporting on planned and unplanned maintenance actions is recorded correctly, promptly and dealt with by appropriate persons within the required time scales.
  • To react to all plant defects by monitoring shift log entries and the IT Maintenance system and assign priorities for rectification.
  • Liaise with contractors as the need arises.
  • Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard.
  • Ensure that stock levels at re-order level are re-ordered for all items of spares and consumables.
  • Supply forecasting and liaison with the Purchasing Manager to maintain adequate minimum stock levels.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the EfW Plant and back up Boiler Section

Management:-

  • To supervise, control, support and motivate staff within the team
  • To supervise, control, support and motivate contractors.
  • Plan, prepare and execute the authorised annual outage and any unplanned shutdowns.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all staff are trained and competent in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure that all technical documentation for all on site equipment is adequate, up-to-date and accessible to all staff.
  • Development of clearly defined procedures for all programmed or responsive maintenance activities and review where necessary to account of changes in operating systems and equipment.
  • Develop and establish clear risk assessments and procedures for all maintenance activities.
  • Monitor and analyse all maintenance related data in respect of controls, tests and technical reports.
  • Prepare annual maintenance budget.
  • To work within the authorised maintenance budget and to manage its expenditure.
  • effectively manage all holiday requests and absences within the maintenance department and ensure that adequate cover is consistently maintained.
  • To carry out annual staff performance reviews, in line with Company policy.

Engineering Manager General Responsibilities:-

  • Contribute to the overall performance of the Company through co-operation/assistance with other company stakeholders, shared experiences, supporting of initiatives that are approved and supported by the senior management team.
  • Keep abreast of and be conversant with all relevant legislation and to interpret and communicate it to all staff while giving clear guidelines in respect of appropriate action required
  • Be comfortable working at height and in confined spaces

Engineering Manager Health & Safety Requirements :-

  • Take on role as Site Technical Coordinator including during emergency response exercises
  • Implement safe working practices in line with the Company’s Health and Safety procedures/Policy and all Company policies.
  • Ensure there is always a high standard of housekeeping on the plant.
  • To take a lead role in fire drills and evacuations.
  • Report and take action against any contravention of statutory and Company Safe working practices, this includes reporting accidents and incidents.
  • Work within the requirements of the Company’s Permit to Work (PTW) system.
  • Highlight any necessary changes required within Plant Operating Instructions (POI’s), and Risk Assessments.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with all departments.
  • Carry out safety audits and observations as required.
  • The above duties are not exhaustive. The job holder will also be required to carry out other ad hoc duties that are necessary.

Engineering Manager Ad hoc Responsibilities

  • To provide cover for other Senior Managers as delegated or as necessary
  • Other duties as required

Engineering Manager Competencies:

  • At least HND and/or relevant experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation Installations.
  • High level of CMMS expertise
  • Preferable Gas qualified
  • Experience of managing a team is essential
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in the operation of steam to energy and high-pressure boiler systems (PSSR Inspections)
  • Preferable IOSH Managing Safely experience.
  • Experience of managing a team is essential. Strong leadership is required.
  • Computer literate. Be able to manipulate data on Microsoft Packages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Must have a good command of the English language.
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

Salary: £60,000.00-£63,000.00 per year
