The Role:
Ablebox are looking for a rare type of person - an experienced, intelligent, problem solving, enthusiastic and highly effective Engineer with leadership and management skills to lead our maintenance team at our primary converting site in Yeovil with a “hands-on” approach. We operate an organised but high tempo environment where we strive to make rapid improvements, so if you thrive in this environment, have clarity of mind to be effective, never want to be bored again and always feel valued, then this could be the opportunity for you, working with like-minded individuals, reporting into Dave Hale, Head of Engineering.
Focusing on:
- The Mission – maximum OEE, zero customer complaints & zero compliance incidents
- Resolving reactive engineering issues and getting to the root causes
- Designing, buying parts and implementing machine improvements to increase efficiency & reliability, engineer out downtime, improve quality and health & safety standards
- Feeding into continually improving PPM schedules
- New plant installation & other improvement projects

About you:
- Highly experienced (or an up-and-coming superstar) in mechanical, electrical and controls & automation
- Very strong problem-solving capability combined with the ability to deliver and implement solutions effectively
- Excellent team player, self-driven and motivated, manufacturing maintenance background, appreciation for lean manufacturing principles, passionate about engineering, IOSH trained would be beneficial, great communicator, quick to pick up new IT software, organised and capable of spinning multiple plates

Within the last 12 months an additional significant facility has been acquired in Sherborne to meet the future growth of the business which will start to come on-stream later this year.
