Our Organisation
Nelson and Colne College Group is made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Accrington & Rossendale College. Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.
The Exciting Role
Due to growth in this area, a number of new opportunities have become available for highly motivated and dedicated Engineering Lecturers to join our dynamic Engineering team on a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent basis. Applications on a part-time basis will be considered for the right candidate, as will flexible roles for those who may wish to undertake some teaching whilst maintaining a part-time role in industry.
We are ideally looking for candidates with experience in one (or more) of the following areas:
- Aerospace (maths, science and fluid mechanics)
- Design/CAD (2D and 3D CAD, design and project management)
- Knowledge of workshop processing and manufacturing techniques

For a candidate wishing to make the move from industry to teaching, a trainee teacher package (with support for completing their teaching qualification) could be explored.
The successful candidate(s) will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across sites.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Teaching on a range of programmes, delivering effective learning for students in the Engineering department
- Planning and preparing high quality teaching and learning
- Developing and sharing resources for the course/subject
- Completing required assessments in relation to student assignments
What We Are Looking For:
- Degree level qualification or appropriate professional qualification (or equivalent level of experience)
- Recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake this
- Strong industry experience would be an advantage and could be considered in place of a degree level qualification for the right candidate.
- Successful teaching experience (ideally on Pearson BTEC) with a background in delivery of Level 3 RQF subjects would be advantageous.
