Role Description
We are seeking a motivated Support Technician to join our team and contribute directly to the creation of prototypes, fabrication processes, and technology design development. On an ad hoc basis as our needs require, you will be at the forefront of transforming ideas into tangible solutions, working closely with experienced engineers to bring concepts to life.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior engineers to comprehend project requirements, objectives, and design specifications.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, offering creative insights for new prototypes and fabrication techniques.
- Utilise workshop tools and equipment for basic fabrication, ensuring safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Hands-on assembly and construction of prototypes, following established procedures.
- Conduct trials and tests on prototypes, documenting processes, observations, and results.
- Embrace manual work to refine prototypes, implement design modifications, and enhance overall functionality.
- Work closely with the engineering team to contribute to the iterative design process.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and findings effectively to the engineering team.
- Uphold high standards of quality, precision, and attention to detail throughout the prototyping and fabrication stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of designs and prototypes.
- Adhere to project timelines, budgets and deadlines, delivering results within specified timeframes.
- Collaborate closely with the Engineering and Entomology teams to comprehend project goals, specifications, and design requirements.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or HND in any Engineering field with practical experience.
- Genuine interest in hands-on engineering, prototyping, fabrication, and design.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, design concepts, and workshop practices.
- Familiarity with tools, equipment, and machinery used in fabrication and prototyping.
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety workshop requirements.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team and contribute ideas for improvement.
