What is the role?
We have ambitious net-zero targets, and our business is growing to help us achieve our strategy. We're looking for graduates with a degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline who have original ideas, methods and solutions to help us reach net-zero. You'll contribute to some exciting projects where you'll be at the forefront of developing, improving, and maintaining our network. You'll be involved in projects and activities that help us ensure our network is not only running effectively, but also is considering innovative new technologies and efficient ways of providing energy to all customers.
Our distribution engineering graduate programme provides real hands-on experience through a rotation of placements in different projects and teams. Throughout the 2-year programme, you will have the support of our Graduate Programme Manager and a business mentor, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential. You will work towards your chartered engineer status and be provided with the support of a professional chartered engineer to share their experience with you.
You will bring enthusiasm, and innovative thinking to problem-solving, and will develop a detailed understanding of the SSEN business and the technology needed to ensure it meets the ever-changing demands facing the UK’s energy infrastructure. You will contribute to keeping the lights on, and be part of achievement of net-zero.

You’ll ideally have a minimum of a 2:2 BEng in an Electrical Engineering degree discipline.
