Purpose of Role

To facilitate the delivery of training and qualifications to learners engaged through Government funded programmes or commercial training opportunities.

We have a number of vacancies spanning the following skills;

  • Functional Skills Tutor

Applicants are expected to be suitably qualified for this role and will require one of the following (or equivalent);

  • Level 7 PGDE or PGCE
  • Level 5 / Level 6 Certificate in Education (Cert Ed)
  • Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
  • Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training

You will be required to provide the highest quality standards in the delivery of training and related qualifications, by exceeding the requirements of learners, partners and stakeholders.

This post will holistically plan, co-ordinate, mentor and support on training and assessment for learners based in the education sector. This could be at different levels including middle and senior managers. Your knowledge and experience will be shared with learners to ensure they achieve their programme at the highest possible level and in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities

  • To promote programmes offered by Impact Academy to all prospective learners through effective information, advice and guidance ensuring the individual commitment requirements, course content and Impact Academy expectations are communicated and understood
  • To deliver the highest possible quality training to every learner in line with delivery models, individual learning plans and where appropriate, employer expectations whilst always maintaining a professional approach
  • To participate in all standardisation meetings and activities, both internally and externally, to develop, update and maintain the quality of courses/programmes including on-line and off-line content and supporting resources to adhere to awarding organisations and end-point assessment organisations requirements
  • To ensure all internal targets relating to contract profile deliverables are met including starts and achievers within each of the specified target groups
  • To exceed minimum levels of performance set against learner retention, overall and timely achievement rates and progression
  • To ensure all contractual requirements are adhered to in the accurate and timely submission of evidence required to claim funding for all aspects of delivery
  • To take responsibility for maintaining up to date knowledge of funding rules relating to learnership delivery.
  • To maintain relationships with employers ensuring they are kept up-to-date with learner progress and participate in all progress reviews.
  • To ensure the appropriate use of on-line systems, including Aptem and Sharepoint, to ensure data is input, maintained and kept secure at all times in line with data use and protection policy.
  • To participate in monthly performance reviews with appointed line manager including caseload reviews and monitoring of KPIs relating to each learner ensuring all learner participation, off-the-job hours and progression reviews are documented in accordance with company procedures, ensuring that adequate preparation has been undertaken for each meeting.
  • To be proactive with updating and maintaining course/programme content as and when required and feeding into standardisation processes.
  • To take ownership of own caseload to include supporting starts activity, reading and acting upon monthly performance reports including actions required for all performance KPIs.
  • To ensure that learners remain on track for the progression of their learnership, and that early intervention is undertaken should the learner not achieve the required volume of work to meet the planned end date.
  • To be responsible for all new product development required to meet future business growth targets and anticipated demand in line with product development processes
  • To participate in all team meetings ensuring all own actions are followed up in a timely manner.
  • To review quality assurance KPIs with appointed line manager identifying best practice and areas for improvement, ensuring agreed actions are actioned
  • To remain up to date with End Point Assessment requirements to facilitate an effective preparation for End-Point Assessment.
  • To support and participate in any required audits, both internal and external as required.
  • To lead on all self assessment activities relating to area of expertise within the delivery team including the conducting of periodic surveys to learners, employers and stakeholders.

Mandatory Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for all aspects of delivery relating to training and qualifications within own caseload.
  • To manage and be responsible for all aspects of health and safety policies and procedures including necessary risk assessments relating to the delivery of training and qualifications.
  • To ensure the safeguarding of all learners within own caseload, whilst delivering training and qualifications, through effective monitoring activities as per safeguarding procedures.
  • To attend and complete all mandatory training activities relating to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Data Protection, Prevent and British Values and Sustainability when requested.
  • To ensure own Continuous Professional Development within area of expertise is maintained and timely requests for any external CPD are submitted in a timely manner to enable cover when required.
  • To follow company data use and protection processes and procedures to ensure data is used appropriately and stored securely at all times.
  • To ensure the effective sharing of best practice to contribute to the continuous improvement cycle as per the company’s quality assurance procedure.
  • Complete skills reviews with learners and identify skill and knowledge gaps.
  • Undertake observations in the workplace (either remotely or onsite).
  • Assess skills and behaviours and feedback to learners using the ePortfolio system.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality training to exceed awarding body quality standards, including functional skills, in the workplace as appropriate to the learner’s requirements.
  • Develop individual action plans tailored to learner needs.
  • Support the delivery of training using approved training resources in the workplace to cover Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.
  • Provide tutorial support including key training for the Learner (and Employer around Prevent and British Values), Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare, Safeguarding and any additional learning support requirements.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide support in the completion of portfolios, End Point Assessments and other evidence setting targets to ensure timely completion.
  • Detailing, monitoring, recording and reporting of Additional Learning Support, as required.
  • Supply information to employees and employers to support learnership programmes, as required.
  • Maintain documentation that records the progress of learners on programme against specified targets.
  • Complete documentation in relation to visits to employers, candidate reviews, assessment visits and any other such appointments that evidence, support and maintain relationships with learners and employers.
  • Ensure timely achievement of all learners on programme and complete the required documentation to achieve Gateway and End Point Assessment.
  • All other duties as and when required and instructed by appointed line manager or member of the senior management team to ensure the continuous operation of the business.

Please note - This role is based in our office in Warrington. Working hours/days will be agreed with the successful candidate prior to starting the role.
