The R&D Team
Technology is core to Swytch. We have redefined the e-Bike kit product category with excellent design and innovative technology. Our future is to redefine even bigger product categories, including complete electric bikes. To achieve this mission, we are assembling a world-class R&D team consisting of Engineers and Designers capable of pushing the limits of what is possible. We are looking for problem solvers, disrupters, and innovators with first class skills in design and technology.
You will be working alongside our co-founder and CTO, Dmitro Khroma, and his team, as well as our Chief Manufacturing Officer, Charlie Newton, and his team. You will be in close touch with our Marketing, and Service departments for a clear view of how your innovations impact our customers and company success
The Role
This is a one year Graduate scheme starting Summer 2023 (provisionally 3rd July). The role will be based in the R&D or Manufacturing Department. We are offering you a 360 degree experience of working in a fast paced, growing, tech business. At the end of the Graduate rotation year we will be offering permanent contracts to those who have the biggest impact on our business.
This graduate rotation scheme will give you the opportunity to own your role while being guided by our senior team. A "T" shaped engineering skillset is ideal, with ability across multiple areas and a strong foundation in one. We are looking to develop future leaders of the company who are able to execute inter-departmental initiatives that will drive our continued growth.
The opportunity is to join a fast growing, data centred, young tech start-up at the very beginning of its technology strategy roadmap. You will have front-row seats into the inner workings of a profitable direct-to-consumer eBike brand, from future product launches, to internal operations development. We are accepting applications from those who have graduated in 2022 or are due to graduate in 2023 from an Engineering degree. You will be on course to achieve a 2.1 or 1st.
You will have:
- Industry experience at an engineering company or consultancy as part of your degree.
- A strong fluency in tech & IT including G-Suite, MS Office, Excel, shortcuts, automations, databases and basic coding.
- Examples of showing leadership including: Committee of a Uni Society, Sports team captain, Fundraising initiatives.
- The ability to work independently, and efficiently.
- An excellent problem-solving mindset.
- A love of data and the proven ability to support your decisions with evidence.
- The ability to handle change and pace that may arise in a fast growing start up.
- Desirable: Data science and data management background
- Desirable: A strong commercial awareness and interest in start-ups having founded a business yourself or have been part of a startup.
- Desirable: Hobbies that have commercial value e.g: Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, Programming, Electronics, Website Development etc
