DB Cargo UK is on an ambitious journey to become Europe’s leading rail logistics provider with a long-term plan to shift traffic from roads, protect our climate and grow the economy. To achieve this, we are looking for Engineering Apprentices to join us as part of our Engineering Team.

You will also be able to;

Use test and measuring instruments in both metric and imperial units
Select and use correct lubricants and solvents

Gain an understanding of the application of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other regulations, I.E. Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 & Manual Handling & Operation Regulations 1992
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Potential for further education opportunities I.E. HND

This role is 37 hours per week, initial hours will be 8-4 but as the programme progresses you may be required to work at weekends. On completion of the programme you will be expected to work shifts.

You must be aged 18 or over; this is to ensure we are compliant with Health & Safety requirements and regulations around shift patterns and working at night for under 18’s. There is no upper age limit.

In return, we offer a staged salary starting at £15,234 in the first year. This will then increase to £16,135 in the second year, £18,023 in the third year and £24,293 in the forth year.
