Position Summary:

We are recruiting for one Multiskilled Engineering Apprentice to join our Manufacturing site located in Perth, Scotland.

Engineering has a key role at the Thermo Fisher Scientific site in Perth and this opportunity allows you to be a part of the team. The role is based full-time onsite, with 1 day per week spent at college, gaining knowledge and theoretical understanding of Engineering principles. During your time as an apprentice in our Engineering department, you will acquire broad training in both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering practices. You will aid our engineering team with various on-site responsibilities, while also gaining a highly respected qualification throughout your time with us. The main Engineering principles you will learn are:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Facilities Engineering
  • Fault Finding on Manufacturing Equipment


From the very beginning of your apprenticeship, we will provide you with comprehensive support and a well-organised development plan.

About the Apprenticeship:

You will be employed on a permanent contract, with the roles commencing in August 2023.

The apprenticeship is a Level 3 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. You will be expected to attend college 1 day per week with Dundee & Angus College. All other aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer, with regular site visits from your designated college assessor, who will supervise your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.
