Are you looking for an exciting development opportunity within the Engineering field?

The Doncaster business unit has manufactured glass containers since 1968 and is part of a leading supplier in glass packaging solutions for the world’s leading brands such as Coca Cola, Corona and Nestle. We are seeking to strengthen our team with the recruitment a number of Apprentices at Ardagh Glass Doncaster.

Our apprenticeship programme gives you the opportunity to experience all engineering departments within the plant whilst attending college, gain a nationally recognised qualification & carry out workplace training in a challenging yet exciting manufacturing industry!

In addition to attending college, the main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

Assisting the engineering teams with maintenance tasks to learn about the application of engineering
Developing skills in Electrical/Mechanical engineering within a manufacturing work environment
Gaining a sound knowledge of the plant equipment and facilities
Developing an understanding of Continuous Improvement
Familiarisation with the company’s systems and procedures
Sourcing and updating engineering documentation and inputting engineering activities into a maintenance system

The ideal candidate will have:
Have an inquisitive and questioning mind, and a desire to learn from others
Have an interest in manufacturing engineering
Have an eye for accuracy and attention to detail, and be able to work to high quality standards
Be confident and have the ability to work independently, in an organised way
Have strong communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team
Have a high regard for safety, quality, compliance, systems and procedures
A technical mind with a methodical approach to tasks and problems
Be motivated and enthusiastic to attend college & achieve their qualification
Have a minimum grade 4 (C) GCSE or above in Maths, English and Science

What we offer:
Starting salary during Apprenticeship, year one £12,013, year two £14,872, year three £17,733, final year four £20,594. Once qualified potential career opportunities for permanent engineering role max salary £35,256
Holiday entitlement - 25 days per year plus the 8 statutory bank holidays
Defined Company pension scheme matching up to 10%
