Job description
Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Doctoral Prize Fellowship 2023 - Two Fellowships available
Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have experience of working in a research laboratory/research environment at a postgraduate level? Are you looking to establish a research career in Science or Engineering at one of the UK’s leading research-intensive universities?
The EPSRC Doctoral Prize scheme supports Fellowships of two years’ duration for exceptional researchers who have been in receipt of EPSRC funding (fees and/or maintenance) during their PhD. To be eligible for this year’s scheme candidates must have a PhD (awarded after October 2022), or have sat their viva or submitted their thesis for examination between 1 October 2022 and 30 September 2023.
Your research area must fall under the EPSRC remit.
These prestigious Fellowships are designed to support you in the development of your independent research and innovation career. As part of the programme we will offer you flexible support, including induction, mentoring and career development planning. You will also be assigned a mentor and a formal supervisor appropriate to your area of research.
This is a national scheme and all EPSRC–supported postgraduate researchers (PGRs) are encouraged to apply. You will be expected to start between 1 August 2023 and 30 October 2023. If you have already been offered or hold a professional research or academic-related position with a contract for 12 months or more, you will be considered to have achieved the aims of this programme and as such will not be eligible.
Interviews are taking place on Monday 12 June 2023 via MS Teams.
