PhD is one of the UK's leading active nutrition brands with a reputation for high quality and product innovation. The brand has grown rapidly, based on its core protein powders, since its launch in 2005. The range now comprises powders, bars and supplements including the high protein, low sugar range, PhD Smart. PhD brand ambassadors include leading fitness influencers Ross Edgley and Obi Vincent.
SiS, founded in 1992, has a core range comprising gels, powders and bars focused on energy, hydration and recovery. SiS is the official sports nutrition supplier to many professional teams and organisations including INEOS Grenadiers Cycling Team and Team INEOS UK (America's Cup Team). SiS supplies more than 150 professional football clubs in the UK, Europe and USA, and is Performance Research Partner to the English Football Association. SiS is Performance Nutrition partner to the NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks and supplies another 12 teams in the NBA.
Science in Sport is headquartered in London. Its shares joined the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange in August 2013 and trade under the ticker symbol SIS.
Company Strategy
The ambition of the Company is to exceed £100m in revenues in the next three years, with >70% of revenue from digital channels and a similar proportion of revenue derived from International markets. A key growth focus is Online, through our Magento-based phd.com and scienceinsport.com platform, together with a substantial Amazon & T-Mall business.
The business enjoys healthy gross margins given its vertically integrated model, product mix and channel mix. A purpose build, new state of the art factory has opened in Blackburn. A significant percentage of net revenue is invested in brand equity and performance marketing, to drive the high revenue growth levels. The Board have committed to significant technology investment over the next three years, in order to accelerate e-commerce growth.
Role Summary:
An opportunity for an individual to develop their IT skills and experience by working as an SiS Cyber Security Technician (Level 3) Apprentice in collaboration with the Apprentices Levy Scheme setting you on a course for a career in Cyber Security. Your role will include the following:
Responsibilities:
· Follow information security procedures
· Maintain information security controls
· Develop information security training and awareness resources
· Monitor the effectiveness of information security training and awareness
· Handle and assess the validity of security requests from a range of internal and external stakeholders
· Follow technical procedures to install and maintain technical security controls
· Monitor and report information security events
· Recognise when and how to escalate information security events in accordance with relevant procedures and standards
· Review and modify access rights to digital information systems, services, devices or data
· Maintain an inventory of digital information systems, services, devices and data storage
· Scopes cyber security vulnerability assessments
· Evaluate the results of a cyber security vulnerability assessment
· Perform routine threat intelligence gathering tasks through consulting external sources
· Undertake digital information risk assessments
· Identify and categorise threats, vulnerabilities and risks in preparation for response or escalation
· Document cyber security event information whilst preserving evidence
· Draft information management reports using standard formats appropriate to the recipients
· Review and comment upon cyber security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
· Perform cyber security compliance checks
· Translate audit requirements and collate relevant information from log files, incident reports and other data sources
· Communication skills to co-operate as part of a multi-functional, multi-disciplinary team using a range of technical and non-technical language to provide an effective interface between internal or external users and suppliers
· Keep up-to-date with legislation and industry standards related to the implementation of cyber security in an organisation
Experience and Skillset:
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· GCSE Maths and English at A* to C or equivalent to Level 2 in functional skills
· A passion for processes and security with a healthy dose of paranoia
· The ability to handle customer enquiries, resolve queries face to face, on the phone and in writing
· Enthusiastic and well organised individual. Likes to roll up their sleeves and get involved
· Passionate about doing a good job and keen to develop their ability
· The ability to manage your own workload and to work to team and project deadlines
