At Eni, we are looking for an Engineer, Technical Safety within Eni Progetti UK Branch in Basingstoke, England. You will be responsible for providing technical and organizational input to safety system engineering activities on a wide range of project Phases from Studies and Front-End Engineering Design to troubleshooting, commissioning, and decommissioning.

EniProgetti is currently helping to lead Eni in the energy transition from traditional business areas with decarbonized solutions such as CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) to innovative project such as renewables, hydrogen, etc.

EniProgetti UK operates a Smart Working policy allowing personnel to work for up to 12 working days/month from home or a similar secure location and these 12 days can be available even where personnel are on leave for a portion of the month. As such, typically around 60% of time working remotely is available for individuals who wish to take advantage of this.
As a member of the engineering team at Eni Progetti UK Branch you will be responsible for:
- Managing time effectively, ensuring that goals and requirements of the project are met, and issues are effectively communicated and resolved.
- Supporting the discipline lead, take initiative and be accountable for assigned tasks.
- Providing technical innovation and a keenness to move the company forward in terms of continuous improvement.
- Working with the project discipline lead and chief engineer to drive performance through the full life cycle of the project ensuring all deliverables are met, budget and schedule are respected, and technical integrity of the design is maintained.
- Undertaking detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for the accuracy of these calculations
- Ensuring detail design methods, standards and data used conform to EniProgetti requirements
- Undertaking fire protection design and develop associated drawings including layouts and P&IDs.
- Undertaking QRA and RAM work.
- Undertaking short term visits to a wide range of operating site and Eni geographic regional offices worldwide.
- Keeping abreast of new legislations on plant design and performance
- Ability to undertake design of oil and gas process systems and equipment.
- Ensuring a high standard of safety is maintained and Environmental and Quality Assurance processes are followed.
This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:
- Knowledge of English
- Experience of main project documentation related to the safety discipline, in particular knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs and datasheets.
- Relevant experience working within a project environment
- Experience of process or safety system engineering for large industrial facilities, either in operations, maintenance or design would be advantageous for this position.
- Good knowledge of the main processes used in both the conventional (oil and gas) and renewable energy sectors.
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline; Chemical Engineering (Masters Level) preferred.
