Senior Development Engineer
A snapshot of your day
Provide technical support to product development projects on a number of varied tasks. This role covers conceptual and detail design, analysis, qualification and production support including the generation of associated documentation for all product ranges.- Engage in all technical activities (as outlined) associated with New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD).
How You’ll Make an Impact
Designs and engineers the component down to detail to satisfy the specified requirements of the customer.- Defines the products and subcomponents to be used including their concrete characteristics.
- Configures the products used according to the requirements.
- Develops detailed solutions for the integration to ensure the interaction of the individual elements as a functioning unit.
- Takes the responsibility for the realization of the component with the required functionality, prepares the design documentation.
- May minister the executing units (e.g. manufacturing, procurement, and logistics).
- Ensure all technical tasks are performed in compliance with the departmental processes for technical scope control, quality and health & safety.
- Produce CAD generated assembly and scope of supply drawings.
- Produce detail designs to comply with the company, project and/or client specification, and produce calculations and documentation to support the design solutions.
- Check and approve documentation including drawings, design documentation and calculations generated by members of the department.
- Define and compile procedures for qualification testing, production assembly, production FAT Testing and site installation and the associated technical data sheets and reports.
- Review project requirements and identify product solutions and technical guidance to enable the preparation of bid proposals and subsequent support in client bid review meetings.
- Provide support in technical meetings at client or supplier facilities.
- Provide engineering support to production and qualification departments when requested.
- Mentor and assist in the skills development of design and development engineers.
- Engage in process and continual improvement initiatives.

- Authorised to make technical decisions within a medium to large sized package or scope of work. (i.e. decisions that could only affect the package or scope of work in question).
