Job Description:
The Package Refurbishment & Upgrades (PRU) Hydromechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design of turbine and driven equipment hydromechanical system upgrades to existing fielded equipment for specific customer sales orders as part of a multi-disciplined project execution team. These industrial gas turbine package systems include: fuel, start, lube, air, compressor seal, fire and gas detection, enclosure ventilation, and all other package systems that support gas turbine and driven equipment operation. He or she will create or modify existing process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), associated device lists, and component source drawings. This role coordinates with Purchasing and vendors for hydromechanical system components, such as oil coolers, pumps, motors, valves and instrumentation. The hydromechanical design is the basis for the 3D mechanical design and determines the instrumentation and control devices connected to the Solar control system requiring close collaboration with the mechanical and controls design engineers on the PRU sales order project team throughout the sales order process. He or she will interface with PRU Project Application Engineering, PRU Project Management, Mabank Operations, Field Personnel, and other departments throughout the project execution process to ensure that all sales order deliverables meet end customer requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Field service experience commissioning and servicing gas turbine packages
- Working knowledge of computer aided design & drafting CADD system (Promis-e preferred, AutoCAD, CADDS-5 alternates)
- Good understanding of purpose and function of each hydromechanical system: fuel, start, lube, air, compressor seal, fire and gas detection, enclosure ventilation, and all other package systems that support gas turbine and driven equipment operation
- Attention to detail concerning component specifications, certifications, and documentation
- Good understanding of fluid flow/pressure/velocity in pipes and tubing (compressible and incompressible flows) in an open system and associated calculations
- Good understanding of pump theories and calculations.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $90,197.03 - $100,899.16 per year
