Job Summary
The Astrodynamics Team is responsible for modeling, simulation, and analyses in areas such as space mission design, trajectory design, orbital maneuvers, orbit estimation, space debris collision and avoidance analyses, and space domain awareness. Engineers in the Astrodynamics group are integral throughout the entire program lifecycle. They are key contributors in the bid & proposal phase, providing inputs to overall constellation and mission design. They are directly responsible for determining the necessary capability of the satellite’s propulsion system. They oversee the orbital Concept-of-Operations (CONOP), designing trajectory and maneuvering profiles to meet key mission objectives. They follow programs from inception to on-orbit operations and through end-of-life disposal.
As an Astrodynamics Engineer, you will be the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for the Astrodynamics subsystem for a given program, study, or proposal. In addition to execution of technical design, analysis, and operation, you may be responsible for project management activities to support programs, ensuring that high-quality work products are delivered on-time.
This position’s internal job code is Guidance, Navigation and Controls Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for level 1 & 2.
