Their UK site provides a manufacturing presence close to its significant UK, Ireland and Northern European customer base to reduce logistic impact, provide the highest levels of customer service, achievement of sustainability goals and provides a platform for future growth in the region.
Position Insights & Objectives
Reporting to the UK Operations Director, the role is an important appointment for the group as it sees the successful executive driving change to create a world class manufacturing operation.
With excellent and demonstrable people management, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering and lean skills the role will ensure an intelligent, timely and well-orchestrated daily approach to operations with reliable ongoing reporting and monitoring of planned implementations – future proofing the site for growth and working highly collaboratively with all stakeholders from roots to roof across the business and beyond.

Working closely with HR, the BU Director and Operations Director, you will also recruit, manage and develop the production team to maximise site output and staff performance.
Role in short
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day manufacturing operations to exceed customers’ expectations.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and improving current quality standards.
- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results Implement strategies in alignment with global strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Work closely with Operations colleagues within the group to share best practice and align in operational approach where beneficial.
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions – keep a centralised log/dashboard.
- Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage and Collect and analyse data to find sources of waste or overtime develop plant staff
- Work closely with the H&S manager and commit to a program of ISO45001 accreditation by ensuring
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Work closely with the ERP Manager to ensure ERP requirements from manufacturing are implemented and embedded as standard operating procedures

- Stay up to date with latest region-based production management best practices and concepts
Requirements and Background
- Proven work experience as a Manufacturing and / or engineering Manager in high volume and complex manufacturing companies with varied direct reports.
- Relative knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Of critical importance, to drive improvement and change, is that the successful candidate will be familiar and experienced in implementing modern lean manufacturing methods such as: Just In Time (JIT), Kanban, Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM), 5S, Six Sigma.
- The role will require the candidate to have a solid understanding of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and in working closely with the maintenance and production team, will devise and implement the most effective maintenance program to reduce downtime and improve productivity. The candidate will take ultimate responsibility for Maintenance strategy and policy to optimise productivity
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise would be beneficial.
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.

Education, Compensation & Location
- A relevant technical/operational Degree is highly desired.
- The position features a competitive base salary, annual performance-based incentive, comprehensive benefits package, and if required, relocation assistance.
- The position will be based in the North of the UK as it site based with primarily domestic travel, and some travel to HQ in Europe as required.

Salary: Up to £90,000.00 per year
