Job description
Gousto is on a mission to become the most loved way to eat dinner. Our meal kits offer the greatest choice, quality and convenience to make it easy for customers to eat better and make a positive difference to our planet.
We’re one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing scale-ups in the UK, we’re profitable, and a B-corp. We deeply understand the value of a nurturing culture that empowers smart, motivated people through data and technology.
Our customers tell us that they want even greater choice and flexibility and constantly challenge us to enable them to cook what they want, when and where they want it. Our aim is to continue to exceed their expectations, and we want your help.
What will keep you busy:
Steering and developing a great team - You will steer and manage a team of analytics engineers, including setting development goals, providing guidance and mentorship, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Building best-in-class solutions - We want to expand on some of the nice thinking and good work already done to expand our analytics engineering products and processes across the business and to new solutions. You’ll be responsible for contributing to our data platform vision, you’ll be key in expanding our designs, and taking on technical leadership to deliver.
Own and improve our data infrastructure - We are striving to keep improving as we grow, so a big part of this role will be investigating and implementing the next-generation data processing and analytics technologies.
Striving for impact and delivery - You will have a significant impact on how we leverage data to propel the business. Hence, you will partner up with other squads across the business to understand their data needs and work with them to find the best solution.
Obsessing over quality - As a data enthusiast you must have already heard a quote "garbage in, garbage out". To ensure high-quality data, guaranteeing accurate dashboards and robust machine-learning algorithms, we believe that every data-point needs to be valid.
Who you are:
- You have a strategic approach to problem solving and are able to see the big picture at all times.
- You have extensive experience in building, scheduling, monitoring and optimising data pipelines using dbt.
- You have an excellent applied understanding of modern data modelling techniques.
- You love writing efficient SQL queries and have working knowledge of Python.
- You have led a team of analytics engineers and have extensive experience in Agile and lean delivery methodologies.
- You have great communication skills, whether to your team, to business stakeholders or to our leadership team.
- You are a high-energy self-starter with a passion for data, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
Nice to haves:
- Exposure to any of the following would be useful, but not essential: Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, AWS, Docker, Fivetran, Snowplow.
