Role Specifics

  • Leading up to 12 people organised into small autonomous, multi-disciplined, T-shaped engineering teams.
  • Work directly with your teams to deliver commitments against challenging deadlines, including a key role in relevant Agile planning and review ceremonies.
  • Coaching and developing your team members to be the very best they can be, with a play to win attitude, a collaborative mindset, and an appreciation of how their role contributes to and aligns with the company goals and strategy.
  • Working with other key stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for our customers by understanding their needs and helping create an environment that fosters excellence.
  • Working with your fellow engineering managers to drive change within the Delivery Engineering practice and foster a positive culture of continuous improvement.

What you’ll need for this role

  • A strong background in software engineering and related disciplines. This could be in any number of object-oriented languages, along with related tooling.
  • A proven track record of building and developing high performing engineering teams where you play an active role in driving their success.
  • Have a passion for people and a track record of nurturing and growing them to be the best they can be.
  • A customer-centric mindset where your goal is to delight them with the results your teams produce.
  • A relentless drive for continuous improvement in quality, processes, developing others and in yourself.
  • Experience with a software product company that values agile principles and practices.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A ‘Can do’ attitude, combined with the ability to ask an open question and listen intently.
  • An optimistic outlook on life, common sense and a sense of humour are essential.
