Job description
- Manage daily priorities and task assignments within the battery development engineering team
- Cooperate with senior management in defining new product specification and requirements
- Work with project management team to plan new product development and to ensure timely delivery of project goals
- Lead the design of custom equipment as well as integration of commercially available equipment
- Collaborate with multiple engineering design disciplines to satisfy overall design objectives
- Create test and validation plans for new products under development
- Provide guidance and oversight during DFM activities including creation of plastic injection mold tooling, sheet metal tooling, and manufacturing processes and equipment
- Work with the engineering team to complete and maintain documentation of all assemblies, including generation of Bill of Material for production transition
- Lead and conduct root cause failure investigations and solutions engineering
- Participate in future product roadmap development
- Lead and participate in DFMEA and risk analyses
- Manage, mentor, and inspire team of engineers and technicians
- Identify and leverage outside resources where required to fill gaps in competencies
- Ensure a safe work environment by following health and safety guidelines and policies
- Expertise in Design for Plastic Injection Molding
- Ability to adapt to changes in direction to drive the company through scale-up
- Skilled in managing subcontractors and partner relationships
- Ability to understand technical issues and justify technical decisions using standards, data, and analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment of an emerging growth company
- Knowledge of project management or organizing project deliverables
- Willingness to own and drive company and product improvement initiatives
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or systems engineering required.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or systems engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience.
