Manager, IT Services
The Manager, Information Technology is responsible for Salford’s operational and strategic requirements related to the application of enterprise information technology. Leading a team of technical specialists from multiple enterprise IT disciplines, the Manager will ensure information technology is applied in a way that brings real value to Salford, is stable, secure, cost effective, and aligns to established global operating systems and best practices. As a key leadership position, the Manager will provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to IT staff. The Manager will also bring awareness on IT priorities, risks, and issues to the rest of the organization.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities that this position must focus on, must achieve and must excel at:
- Provide leadership & guidance to a cross-functional team of enterprise IT specialists across various disciplines including: Infrastructure & Networking, Information Security & Controls, Systems Administration, Desktop Support, and ERP Support & Business Analysis.
- Work with IT staff to create goals & development programs and track progress using standardized staff performance management system.
- Monitor IT key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective action when targets not being met.
- Work with business stakeholders to align IT projects with overall corporate strategy & priorities.
- Develop and implement team policies, procedures, and work instructions that align with global operating systems and enterprise IT best practices.
- Develop business cases and project plans for new IT initiatives. Manage project execution using project management methodologies.
- Work with ERP team lead to ensure software development initiatives follow I.T. standards and best practices.
- Lead IT continuous improvement initiatives to find opportunities to improve systems performance, stability, capabilities, and/or reduce costs.
- Regularly communicate IT updates, risks, and issues to Salford management team.
- Facilitate regular audits/tests of Salford IT security, business continuity &data controls systems and, where appropriate, take steps to resolve and mitigate business risks.
- Lead programs to educate enterprise users on secure & safe usage of IT systems.
- Provide input into IT operating and capital spend budgets and monitor spend against plan.
- Facilitate selection, quoting, price negotiation, and procurement of IT assets and services.
- Ensure proper tracking and management of all IT assets.
- Manage IT maintenance & services contracts and renewals.
- Review and approve system change deployment plans.
- Remain up to date with advances in enterprise technology and industry best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field (i.e., Business Administration, Information Systems, etc.) or an equivalent level of education and experience.
- Minimum 8-years working in enterprise IT.
- Formal experience in leading a cross-functional enterprise IT team, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
- Prior experience managing IT projects using project management methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in the administration of enterprise IT networks & infrastructure is considered an asset.

- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to coach and mentor direct reports and build effective teams.
- Strong communication skills – ability to communicate complex technology issues & opportunities to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
- Good business acumen and an understanding of how technology brings value to enterprises.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time.
- Exhibit a “sense of urgency” when resolving critical issues.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Quick thinking and decision making – ability to adopt quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong multi-disciplinary knowledge of enterprise IT best practices.
- Knowledge of project management techniques.
