We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice - Engine Workshop Technician to join our team for our Distribution Business Segment in Cumbernauld.During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
Salary - £20,250
Hours - Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00 (applicable study time)
Role is based on site.
What is the role of the Cummins Engine Workshop Technician?
- As a Cummins Engine Workshop Technician, you will be at the front line of the business, servicing, repairing and maintaining engines and generators to ensure the customer’s equipment is operating at all times.
- Cummins engines are used in a wide variety of customer applications, and you will work on engines at a customer’s site or in the workshop.
- Assist with general workshop activities while completing on the job and classroom-based training.
- Assist in cleaning, inspecting, disassembling and other basic workshop activities.
- Learns Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and follows documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and maintenance.
- Assists with completing required documentation, such as work completed documentation and time sheets via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
Qualifications

The training program is aimed at, but not limited to, school and college leavers who wish to develop an exciting career in engineering. Applicants should have a good standard of education with a minimum of 5 GCSE grades C or above (or equivalent), including English, Maths and Science.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Good communication skills.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimal level of workshop experience (advantageous but not required) or basic level knowledge of engine products.
- Desire for apprentice to join the business after the training period.
